Our story and purpose

At Your Pace Athletics was created from a simple idea: every athlete develops at a different pace, and they deserve coaching that respects that. Growing up and playing the game, I saw how many players get overlooked or stuck because training isn’t personalized or focused on real improvement. Too many programs treat everyone the same, rush development, or focus only on short-term results.

That’s what inspired me to start At Your Pace Athletics — to build a program where athletes can develop properly, build confidence, and actually see progress over time.

Our main goal

Our goal is to help athletes become more skilled, more confident, more disciplined, and more prepared for real game situations. We focus on long-term development, not quick fixes. Every player we coach is pushed to improve at their own pace, while still being challenged to reach higher levels.

What makes our coaching different?

What makes our coaching style unique is the combination of structure, intensity, and real-game application. A lot of programs in Coquitlam focus on basic drills or keeping players busy. We focus on developing complete players — athletes who can actually perform when it matters.

Every session is structured with purpose (no random drills), game-speed and competitive, and focused on decision-making, not just skills. We don’t just teach players what to do — we teach them when and why to do it.

  • Building confidence through challenge, not comfort

Players are pushed out of their comfort zone, because that’s where real improvement happens. We care about development, not just workouts. That means tracking progress over time, adjusting training based on the player, and focusing on long-term growth.

Our ideal athletes

Our ideal athletes are players who are serious about improving and willing to put in the work. They don’t have to be the best on the court — but they need the right mindset. We work best with players who want to get better, not just play for fun; are coachable and open to feedback; show effort, consistency, and discipline; and have goals (making a team, earning more minutes, playing at a higher level).

Who benefits most?

Our training is especially effective for players who feel stuck and want to take their game to the next level, want to make school or club teams, need structure and accountability in their training, or are ready to train at a higher intensity. We accept all skill levels, but our environment is built for players who are ready to be challenged. That’s where the biggest improvements happen.
